If you are a PhpGedView user you will know that it comes with a standard set of themes. But you may not be aware that many users have created their own themes, either from scratch or by adaptation of one from the standard set.

This site has been created to encourage more people to develop themes; to share those already designed, and discuss any issues related to PGV themes. The site is separate but complementary to PGV's own home site (click here) and the SourceForge forums (click here).

Public visitors to this site can view screen shots of the themes at GALLERY; view full demonstrations of PGV and any of the themes on this site at DEMO; and read the discussions about all aspects of the PGV themes in FORUM.

If you care to register with us, then you can also download the latest themes (all entirely free); upload your own themes in FILES; contribute to any of the forum discussions; and add to our valuable store of FAQs.

The FAQ pages contain advice on how to use this site, and information about creating and using PGV themes.

An Enhanced Standard Theme PDF Print E-mail

This theme allows all viewers to switch between normal font sizes and larger font sizes. It also adds a search option to search 1000s of genealogy databases on the web. It is based on the Standard theme and only adds the above features.

It's available to view in the DEMO section, and to download from FILES.

We have 'dhinckle' to thank for this great idea.

The "Larger" button increases the size of smaller text to the size of 14px. This has proven very helpful for visually impaired users and each viewer can select their preference. The user does not need to be logged in as the theme is stored as a cookie and will be saved for the next time the user browses the site. The "Smaller" button sets the font size to the normal sizes for the Standard theme.

The normal and larger fonts are managed by their respective CSS file. You can custom the sizes by changing the style*.css files.

The theme has the traditional site search and a "WWW" search to give search options on several genealogy databases and creates Google searches specially designed for genealogists.
